SharePoint quick start for the company and includes the following features

Announcements / Kudos

In the company there are events or achievements that we want members to be aware of. This part involves employee announcements or posts wherein users can react, like or comment on the posts. Employee achievements or recognitions or welcoming a new member of the team are posted here. Members can create a post and have the option to set an expiration date, the post will be deleted after the expiration date.

Leadership Corner

An easy way for high-level positions (CEO, CFO, managers, directors) to deliver a message or make an announcement to the employees is by posting their announcements under Leadership Corner. Employees or members can react or like the post. To receive the latest updates from the managers and executives’ members have the option to subscribe.

Stock Ticker

This involves the latest value of the selected stock/s in the market to help keep up with its dip or rise. Stock Ticker involves gathering the current stock values and will redirect the user to the stock details page. Site owner, member, site collection administrator can create or edit the post under Stock Ticker.

Employee Directory

List of all employees in a directory sync from the Active Directory. There is a search function under employee directory where user must select letter indexes to display users that starts with the clicked letter/s. You can also type in the name of the employee that you are looking for.

Events Calendar

This is the place where the communications department posts or highlights events within the company. Some of these events are team dinner, camping or sportsfest. This center also includes the following subsection

News

In the News webpart updates from any of the SharePoint sites that’s part of the hub gets posted. Members can also post news link from external sources for everyone to be aware of.

Polls

To get the opinion of the majority a survey for certain events or setup preference is being done. Polls is a webpart where surveys or polls are created. Users/Employees gets to vote on their preference on the survey and after the vote button is click a chart will show the differences of each option based on the votes. Site owner, member, site collection administrator can create or update the Polls.

Weather Ticker

This will gather the latest weather information based on the user’s set country and location. Site owner, member, site collection administrator can create or edit the post under Weather Ticker.

Organization Chart

This shows the list of all employees in an organizational/hierarchical manner and the display is relative to user’s “managers” data. This will ease others in identifying who the approving officer should be or to whom to report on certain scenarios.

Community

This is the place where the communications department posts or highlights events within the company. Some of these events are team dinner, camping or sportsfest. This center also includes the following subsections:

Marketplace
Can make a post or list items for sale or for trade within the members.

Places of Interest
This involves posting places user wants to visit. Can be filter by type (Hotel, Food, Coffee) and by location. Members get to post places that interest them, or they’ve visited, and other users can also give a review through stars and/or comments on their experience.
